Gear, supplements, and tools I recommend.

Fitness

TRX

The TRX Suspension Trainer is by far my most favorite piece of equipment out on the market. It is phenomenal for rehab situations where you need to control movement, or take weight off of certain areas of your body. Plus it can be used by anyone at any level!

Powerblocks

If you want to add external weight to your workouts, then the easiest option is to use a set of dumbbells. These types of dumbbells contain a wide range of weights built into one convenient unit. *Pro Tip* If you order from Amazon, you won't have to cover shipping costs. Otherwise, 50+lb packages can be very expensive to ship!

Foam Mats

This might seem like a weird option, but it is actually one of the favorite items that our clients use. A foam mat is nice to use when you are down on your hands, knees, or back. The extra comfort helps to prevent your body from getting scraped up, which is a plus. You would be surprised how many people order these right away because it makes the workouts more enjoyable! There is no need to suffer completely during your workouts.

Treadmill

Treadmills are a fantastic piece of equipment to improve your cardiovascular system. Treadmills are pretty versatile, you can run or walk on them, adjust the speed, change incline, and even do some side stepping or backwards running. Most treadmills also are equipped with some suspension so it is relatively low impact on the knees.

BOSU

Training our balance is one of the most important things we can do, especially the older we get. BOSUs are a safe way to test your balance. One side is like balancing on a ball, while the other side is flat and allows you to work on control with minor balance tweaks. This can also be used for upper body exercises, not just balance in the legs

Hypervolt

The Hypervolt has been an absolute game changer in our training programs. This device is a percussion massager with adjustable speeds, which is great for different body types and different pain levels. It helps to relieve sore muscles and tissues, improves blood and fluid flow into the tissues, and helps with recovery.

Nutrition

Fullscript

Not all supplements are created equally. Professional-Grade supplements use higher quality of raw materials, and actually contain the nutrients the label states (unlike supplements found in stores). Fullscript is a distributor for professional grade supplements and contains many different brands.

Athletic Greens

This is our favorite greens powder we have used. It is packed full of 75 whole food ingredients, and helps you to get all of your micronutrient needs. It blends pretty well into smoothies!

Thrive Market

Thrive Market is an online marketplace for healthy food. They have the largest selection of health products available, and all at wholesale pricing! You can join now and get free shipping on your first order.

HANAH One

HANAH blends superfoods into an Ayurvedic fashion that helps with the natural absorption of the key nutrients in the product. It is made from 30 wild-harvested botanicals and is sourced in the most ethical way.

Recovery

SaunaSpace Sauna

Not all saunas are created equal. NIR saunas are used for detoxification purposes and help to change the mitochondria in the body. We did an entire podcast episode about the details of NIR Saunas!

Molekule

When mold is in the air, or even pollen, it can cause inflammatory responses in your body. Molekule destroys these air pollutants so they can no longer harm you

Normatec Compression Boots

These are an absolute gamechanger for after intense exercise recovery! It helps to circulate fluids into your legs to replenish hydration and nutrients for muscle building and recovery.

Outdoors Gear

Outdoor Vitals CS40

Last summer I tested out the Outdoor Vitals CS40 pack and absolutely loved it. It is a very comfortable pack and has plenty of room to carry everything you need. This is now my go-to overnight backpack for most of our trips!

Outdoor Vitals Skyline Fastpack

As a small, lightweight backpack, the Skyline Fastpack from Outdoor Vitals stays really firm to your body so you can move fast without it bouncing everywhere. It has over 30L of room. This is my new favorite daypack or pack for fast overnight trips

Hyperlite Mountain Gear Southwest Pack

Sarah loves pockets and places to stash unusually shaped gear, like camp chairs and cookstoves. She has been using the Southwest Pack for nearly a decade and I can't get her to try out anything else! This pack is durable and is pretty lightweight as well.

Hyperlight Mountain Gear Porter Pack

Before the OV CS40, the HMG Porter Pack was my go-to for everything. Now it is the pack I use for trips that require a mix of gear, like packrafts, or splitboards. With the daisy chains on the side, you can customize it for whatever trip you want! I used this pack for over 8 years and it has 1 tiny hole in it, it is extremely durable.

Snowboard

Outdoor Master Ski Goggles Pro

I've had really expensive pairs of goggles over the years, and I scratch them up a lot. These Outdoor Master Ski Goggles are cheap and you can get replacement lenses very cheap on Amazon. I love how easy it is to swap lenses, we each have about 5 different lenses for different lighting situations and can swap in seconds.

Jones Mountain Twin

My first snowboard died after 13 years, so I picked up the Jones Mountain Twin to give that a try. Turns out the new tech in snowboards has changed a lot, and this board is awesome! I have been using it for over a year now and absolutely love it.

Karakoram Nomads

We've gone through a couple different iterations of splitboard bindings, and so far the Karakorams have felt the best while sidehilling. I have been using the Nomads for 3 years now. They are easy to transition and are pretty lightweight.

Camera

Sony a1ii

I have been a Sony user for well over a decade and have worked my way up to using the a1ii. It is the best of all worlds, great for wildlife, fantastic video, and large file sizes for landscape. It is my daily workhorse!

Sony 16-35mm F2.8 GM2

I've played around with 3rd party lenses for years, but the native glass for any camera system is definitely higher quality. I am now using the Sony 16-35mm F2.8 GMii as my main wide angle lens. It is extremely sharp and versatile, and I love having a zoom.

Sony 20mm F1.8 G

After our trip to Spider Meadows, my old 16-35mm F4 died on me so I needed to get a new lens for wide angle. Reviews were fantastic for the Sony 20mm F1.8 so that is what I went with. Being a prime lens, it is sharp, it is great in low light, and it's very good for video. I used it for 2 years before getting the new 16-35mm F2.8!

Tamron 35-150mm E-Mount

When backpacking, I need to be picky with how much weight to carry. But this lens is hard to leave behind. With its focal range and image quality, I always have it in my pack. This is probably the best and most universal lens I own, and it is one of the cheapest lenses as well.

Sony 300mm GM

I used to use the Sony 200-600 lens for wildlife, but then last year when I went to Katmai I upgraded to the 300mm. This lens never leaves my camera, it is the best lens I have ever used! Plus with teleconverters it is still absolutely amazing (usually I use the 1.4x).

Sony ECM-M1 Microphone

Good audio is very important for video, and the Sony ECM-M1 microphone provides a lot of ways to capture audio around you! I just started using this microphone and so far I am really liking it. This slides right into the hot shoe mount on top of Sony Cameras and embeds the audio right into the video.

Wearables

Garmin Epix Pro 2 51mm

The top of the line watches from Garmin are not cheap, but they are feature-packed with everything you need for fitness and outdoors activities. I upgraded to this watch and visually it is much better than the Fenix series, and the battery life is pretty good as well.

Tech

Garmin Inreach Mini 3 Plus

We've had too many close calls in the wild to not have an emergency SOS button on us at all times. This is a device we hope to never need to use, but don't want to wish we had it when it was needed.
